Fabulous 50s Flapjack Free for All The Dorchester, Kelowna, BC
The Dorchester Retirement Residence held the Fabulous 50s Flapjack Free For All breakfast on Sunday, June 3. Hundreds of seniors enjoyed the Flapjacks flipped by celebrity flippers such as Al Horning, local MLA for Kelowna Lake Country, Seniors Learning in Retirement facilitator David Madison formerly of CBC Radio, and special guest “The Fonz”.
While filling up on flapjacks, crowds were entertained by 50s style jive dancers, vintage cars and 50s music by the likes of Barbershop Choir “Chordial Invitations”, acoustic guitarist Ray Turner and resident favorite Remi Pico.
The event was successful in raising hundreds of dollars for The Arthritis Society's Joints in Motion. Many Kelowna businesses are to be thanked for their contributions of foods and prizes. Assisting in the festivities were The Kelowna Hostesses.
